The Method
A signal is a state machine, not a screenshot.
Every opportunity ORDR-DESK publishes moves through the map below. The entry, the stop, and the invalidation level are recorded before anything goes live, a revision through the revision workflow is saved as a new numbered version, and the evaluation engine moves it through each state by checking observed prices from a named data source against those recorded levels.
The complete lifecycle map
Select or focus any state to light the transitions it is allowed to make. The full map is also written out in words below, so nothing here depends on the picture.
Authoring
An analyst defines the thesis, entry, stop, and invalidation before anything is published.
Live
The opportunity is public and the monitor is watching for the entry condition.
Engaged
Price met the entry condition. The position is now being tracked against its targets.
Resolution
The evaluation engine sets the outcome by checking observed prices against the recorded levels.
Record
The monitor applies no further transitions. The call's versions and events stay in append-only tables.
What each state means
- Draft
- The analyst is still writing. Nothing is visible to members and no monitoring is running.
- Scheduled
- Complete and approved, held for a publication time.
- Published
- Visible to members with its entry zone, stop, invalidation level, and targets recorded in a numbered version.
- Waiting
- The monitor checks observed trades from the market-data feed against the entry condition. Nothing has been entered yet.
- Triggered
- Price met the entry condition. The moment, the observed price, and the data source are recorded.
- Active
- The position is live. Observed trades are evaluated against the stop and the targets on each monitoring run.
- Partial Target
- A first or second target has been reached. The remainder of the position stays under monitoring.
- Target Hit
- The final target was reached. The event records the observed price and when it was seen.
- Stopped
- Price reached the call's recorded stop. The remaining allocation exits at the observed trade price that reached it; any targets hit earlier keep their recorded exits.
- Invalidated
- The structural premise broke. The idea is void regardless of where price went afterwards.
- Expired
- The entry condition was never met inside the window. Nothing was entered and nothing is claimed.
- Cancelled
- Withdrawn before it ever went live. It is retained in the record and excluded from performance. The monitor applies no further transitions.
- Closed
- The monitor applies no further transitions. Its versions and events are in database-enforced append-only tables, and it enters the published performance ledger.
Explore the evidence structure
Explore the lifecycle one condition at a time. Each step describes the evidence fields that a qualifying observation must populate.
